Veko Lightsystems International BV invests in SMD production line
Veko Lightsystems International BV located in Schagen (NL) has been developing, producing and assemblying (LED) line lighting systems for over 40 years. Their products are installed in buildings all over Europe, and local production is a key driver for the company. In addition to the aluminium assembly, Veko has recently aded the SMD production of LED lighting.
The production of long LED strips differs from standard SMD production because non-standard panel sizes of up to 1500mm in length need to be handled. This unique concept assures that lightlines can be mounted faster and more easily. In order to find an automated solution, Veko contacted Smd-Tec in Aarschot (B), who has year long experience in facilitating electronics production companies, and has solutions for long board LED production.

​In addition, Smd-Tec had earlier installed a similar production line at Thal Technologies in Almere (NL). Thal has built up a lot of hands-on experience with the production of long LED boards, a knowledge that they now share with Veko Lightsystems.
The total SMD line is over 20 meters long and consists of fully automatic Autotronik systems with PCB destacker, screenprinter, pick & place machines, reflow soldering oven, depaneller and testsystems. This generates an output of over 5.000.000 LED’s placements per month and offers Veko the full control of their products from bare PCB to fully finished product. This gives the company a high form of flexibility, efficiency and control of the quality and durability of their products.
